The goof of the week :)

Again Verga just can't count.  Whether it be the 29, no 22 counties in the district, neither of which are right. or the days in the month of December, Mr Verga just can't count.   If you include the 29th, there are only three days left not four !  Just as you can't count the illegal corporate money you donated to your campaign as your first donation, you can't count the money received on the first of January in this report either, Mr. Verga.

Fellow Conservatives,

The next four days are crucial!

I so deeply appreciate all your help to my campaign thus far. I have been truly blessed to get to know many you in my travels throughout the 5th District.

We are at a critical crossroads in the campaign and need your support now more than ever.

As I wrote about in my RedState op-ed, the Republican establishment is fighting hard for their moderate tax-raising candidate, Robert Hurt. This is why they chose to nominate our candidate by primary in order to give an advantage to Hurt, who with fundraising support from people like Congressman Eric Cantor, will have the necessary resources to win an expensive primary.

Of the conservative candidates, I have the greatest ability to go toe-to-toe with Hurt, which is why Laura Ingraham declared me the conservative frontrunner. As I have been fortunate to embody the American dream, I am able to invest a significant amount of money into the race. However, my personal investment will not be enough, I need your help!

We know that our campaign has the most grassroots support, but we need to prove this publicly by having the most donors.  Every donation, no matter how small, will help.

If you donate $25, we will even send you a very cool Verga for Congress T-Shirt!

Once again I'm always available and would love to hear from you. Contact me at Laurence@VergaforCongress.com

Hope all is well with you and your family.

Merry Christmas

We have just obtained very interesting information about one of the candidates wanting to tear the 5th District apart and the help they expect to get in doing it.  It is straight from the candidate and it will be interesting to see if they will confess to their undermining of local GOP units who have been working hard while they sat on the sidelines doing almost nothing last year and the year before.

Rather than doing an Obama and revealing this disaster of an plan before Christmas, we will wait until after so that we can close up some of the final details.  We don't want to do a Bill Hay and not have the facts to back up a claim.

Who is Not Andy Sere ?

It is clear that Not Andy Sere is no fan of Robert Hurt but the blog also seems to have had in the past a  very strong push towards Lawrence Verga.  We believe that the author is none other than Keith Drake, a past consultant for Verga.  Why can't Verga speak for himself openly and does he know that Drake is blogging this way ? If he does, doesn't the blog need a disclaimer ?  Drake has recently been replaced by a DC firm but the terrible video that was just up is clearly his work.  Verga had a FEC violation with his first contribution when he funded his campaign with 25K from his business account that he had to give back to himself.  Is the Not Andy Sere blog a violation also ?

Stupid move of the week

Today Lawrence Verga posted a new video mentioning his visit to the Laurha Ingrham show.  I would think that he would want to hide that visit.  It has the best sound bite of the campaign so far, and not one he wants out there.

Laurha Ingrham show

This is straight from Laurence Verga's mouth.

INGRAHAM: Now you pride yourself on not being a career politician. And you pride yourself on being a constitutionalist. When you say that, what do you mean by that?
VERGA: I believe that 233 years ago, our Founders wrote a template that has incredible flexibility, it’s a document that works as well.
INGRAHAM: Flexibility? That sounds like a liberal Supreme Court Justice. The evolving Constitution. I’m looking at your press people with the nicks, nicks, nicks with the flexibility of the document.
VERGA: I meant the elasticity that it was as good then as it is now, it’s a great template for freedom and liberty and we should look at it today as far as all the decisions we make.

We don't need a congressman who thinks our constitution is flexible and elastic.

And especially one who is so out of touch that he puts this terrible statement up for everyone to see.  Bet Tom Perriello has this in his file right now !

December 12th and the District meeting

Despite what Bill Hay, who is on the campaign team for Lawrence "the Constitution is flexible" Verga writes, the grassroots of the GOP spoke loudly and clearly yesterday in Appomattox.  They rejected the politics of the backroom deal and went instead for an open election.

Verga, who is spending almost as much of his time DC as in the district these days, has hired a high dollar image firm to get him on conservative talk shows so he can try and beat up on Robert Hurt.  Verga, who just moved to the district and who has never helped in any way in a single GOP race until he decided to run, has decided that he can buy his way into Congress.  It was the Laura show where Verga flubbed the Constitutions question that his PR firm had gotten him placement on.

Bill Hay has set up a debate under the name of the Jefferson Area TEA party.  How proper is it for Hay to run such an event, especially since he has chosen Rob Schilling, whose PR firm has taken 20K from Verga as the moderator.  What a bunch of garbage.  Every other candidate should skip this debate.  There is no way Hay and Schilling intend to be fair.  What would Hay say if Ken Boyd had John Pudner organize a debate ?

An ever bigger stupid move than Feda's

Just yesterday the campaign for Lawrence Verga did very negative robo calls that have clearly backfired on him.  He is now seen as the guy who is against other candidates but has little positive to say about himself.  This reporter has heard that a number of money people in Albemarle have decided to look otherwhere.  I hope his pockets are as deep as he says they are because he is going to have to do a lot to overcome this early impression.

Reports are also back that he was corrected very visibly by the NRCC when he made a presentation in DC this week. Seems he got up and repeated his story that the NRCC has endorsed Hurt.  NRCC staff corrected him very vocally and he had no answer to them. Seems he wasted his trip. Does he need to withdraw his statement that he recently made if he expects to ever get any help if he were to win the nomination ?  Do we color him as the guy who just can't do anything right ?

Stupid move of the week

We know everyone wants to have a great image everywhere but why spend big bucks at the advance when few people from the district will actually be there.  I know most of the candidates looked at it and decided that the room rent, supposedly $1500, and the food costs were just too high to justify the 50-60 people who may be coming from the 5th.

Funny thing but I don't remember Virgil ever throwing his supporters money away at the price of maybe $50-60 per voter.  And the winner of the not so conservative spender, stupid move of the week award, is none other than Feda Morton.  Did she have similar spending habits on the school board ?  We also hear that some very top level GOP bigwigs have told her she either needs to raise a lot of money or get out of the race.  Will she be the next one out ?
