The first fluff award

If any candidate puts out a press release or other communication that really needs some correction, we will be equally rigorous with every candidate on questioning its veracity.  The winner of the first fluff award has to be the Facebook post from Lawrence Verga on his recent tour.

"Last week, we had a successful announcement of my 10 pledges to the citizens of the 5th District.

There was great attendance at our stops in Martinsville, Danville, and Charlottesville, as well as media coverage by the Martinsville Bulletin, Danville Register and Bee, Daily Progress, and NBC 29. "

Now he did have a tour, he did get coverage, but great attendance there wasn't.  Not unless you count about a half dozen in Martinsville, about three times that in Danville and four times that in Charlottesville as great attendance.  At each event Verga was buying every meal and had sent out extensive pre-event publicity.  That a little too cute post card just didn't excite people.  He had TEA party folks as hosts for his events in Danville and Charlottesville and they just couldn't excite their troops about Lawrence.

Lawrence, if you keep up the puffery about simple things like this, people will wonder about your pledge.
